How i started playing music:
Literally on pots in the kitchen. my parents then decided to send me to music school where I learned playing drums from a jazz guy - I did pretty well, but then this teacher left and there wasn't anyone that could really fill in. so I quit the school and started playing in bands, the first serious one being a progressive metal band called CERESS. then I met simon thru a friend at a local hardcore show and we decided to jam and it was one of the moments where you go "this is it!". He knew a guy who'd play bass and out friend pat hooked us up with our future singer. This band went thru a lot of name changes and bass players and finally ended up being called MINE. until we split up we did various 7" releases plus a full length called "tetanus", tons of shows and we even made it over to the u.s.

How i got hooked up with cataract:
I was in DAMAGE I.D. (again with simon) which was the follow up to MINE; but it wasn't working out as we wanted to - there were three guys that loved the band and wanted to conquer the world with it and two guys who were more into it for just having fun. Just around the time where we had problems motivating our singer into more rehearsals, greg came along and wanted to jam with us - playing more aggressive, fast, metal influenced music. and again, it was a "this is it!" experience. we split up the DAMAGE and greg quit his band CEASE to form CATARACT. so basically I didn't get hooked up, I founded the band with simon and greg.

Love:
Playing live with cataract and of course going to shows, esp. seeing nile and cannibal corpse play! I'm torturing my band mates playing my black metal cds; my family and friends, hanging out at shows... I also deejay in two pubs in zurich, if you should ever make it there make sure you visit me and say "HI! C?ú??????UT THE CRAP!"

Hate:
Badmouthing. you shouldn't deal with things that are upsetting you. there's better things to do.

Hobbies:
It's all about cataract, it takes all my time. and besides this, deejaying. for my own pleasure I spin drum'n'bass (mainly old school and tech step if you care), at the pubs I work with cd's, playing the finest (or should I say worst) from the 60ies to actual chartbrakers... you know, maia-hiii, maia-huuu.....

Food:
Omnivore. I love indian food and cooking myself.

Movies:
21grams, dawn of the dead, the ring, snatch, se7en, junk, gonin, the haunting '63, from dusk till dawn, wrong turn, 28 days.
